History:  Following on the coattails of Levitra, Cialis gained FDA approval in late 1993 and was subsequently produced by GlaxoSmithKline.  It was the third big name ED drug released in a half a decade, eventually becoming the 2nd biggest seller in the ED marketplace

Method administration:  Cialis is administered in oral form.

Drug Class:  PDE5 Inhibitor.

Primary Use:  In many respects, Cialis is amazingly similar to Viagra, although its active life is several times longer than that of its older brother, making it the more suitable candidate for long stretches of sexual activity or when sexual contact cannot be planned in advance.  However, it is Cialis’s long active life which disqualifies it as a performance enhancer, as most athletic endeavors and weight training sessions are of a significantly shorter duration.  For this reason, Viagra is the preferable alternative for performance enhancement, as it maintains an active life which coincides perfectly with most of these activities.  Although all PDE5 Inhibitors work through the same basic pathway, personal response will vary from one person to the next, making personal experience invaluable in determining which drug works best for each individual.
